Gerald Glaister, legendary and probably one of the most successful television producers died on February 5th.
Glaister, who flew with Bomber Command in WW2, produced many successful tv series, , including:
Moonstrike
Colditz
The Brothers
Howards Way
Kessler
Secret Army
Maigret
The Expert

He aslo occasionally directed some episodes.

He directed three Edgar Wallace Mysteries:
The Set-Up
The Partner
The Shareout

There are few, if any, producers who know how to maintain plot, drama and suspense through a tv series today with good scripts, good casting and a level of integrity that doesn't force the viewer to suspend disbelief.
Many of his tv series would stand repeated viewing. i.e Colditz, Secret Army, Kessler and The Expert (a little gem featuring Marius Goring).
