I was wondering if any more information on George Pollock has come to light since JamesM's original post. He directed Margaret Rutherford's wonderful Miss Marple films, and will be 100 this year. His death is not registered on IMDb.

I am George Pollock's Son in Law. His daughter, my wife and I can provide quite a bit of information about him. Sadly, he died on 22nd December 1979. Peter White |

Hello Peter
Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I am very sorry to learn that your father-in-law is no longer with us. He left a wonderful legacy and, as you are no doubt aware, he was Assistant Director on Brief Encounter, which happens to be my favourite movie. Along with his Miss Marple films, his contribution to British cinema was priceless. I note that his entry on IMDb has been updated with the correct information.
