Began working for B.I.P. in 1932 became an sst director by 1935 on "Drake of England" and some Tod Slaughter films and "Goodbye Mr Chips (1939) before becoming a production manager for Launder and Gilliat for "Captain Boycott" (1947) and "The Blue Lagoon" (1949) then turning associate producer for "The Happiest Days of Your Life" (1950) and as a full producer for the Peter Sellers films "Two-Way Stretch" (1960) and "The Wrong Arm of the Law" (1963), "The Theatre of Death" (1966) and others, ending his career with Frank Launder for "The Wildcats of St Trinians" (1980).
