Hello John

I joined the BECTU Film and History Project team recently and was wondering if you would consider being interviewed the enxt time you come to England.

I happen to be planning to ask Bernard Ebbinghouse for an interview for the project. He doesn't live too far away from me (in South London). Although I watched many of the Edgar Wallace films in the mid 1980s on television, there seem to be more qualified people to interview him on here and wondered if anybody not living too far away would like to volounteer to interview him (I would perform the task of recording / filming it if he agrees to it). Travel expenses only, we are all volounteers.
I would be very happy to give an interview next time I am back in the UK.

What an opportunity to get Mr. Moxey's thoughts about his films on tape. Isn't there someone based in the US who could take the list of questions from the BECTU History Project and interview him in the US now, rather than later? Tomorrow is not always another day.

Best,

Barbara

I'm the usual optimistic Scarlet, believe me. That was just my other side speaking as in "Get it done yesterday!" because an interview of your thoughts is important.

I'm delighted someone will be interviewing you...yesterday!

All the very best,

Barbara

There are a couple of things on the IMDb at the beginning of John's career that are not on the BFI list. I updated the IMDb list with film titles found on the BFI sight.

Thank you Julian Caster.
Fantastic!! Some I had almost forgotten. I do believe there are some missing Mannix episodes. I'll do a bit of research. Many thanks John Llewellyn

Hello, Mr. Moxey:

I notice that you directed quite a few episodes of MURDER, SHE WROTE as well as MAGNUM, P.I. in the mid 80s right around the time that Jenny Agutter also appeared in both series. We have quite a few fans of Miss Agutter here, and I am wondering if you ever worked with her?

Thanks,

Barbara

Hello, Julian,

I know that Jenny's not officially listed as having worked with JLM, but I thought since he and Jenny were in the California area during the same years, they might have informally worked together or as fellow Brits, served on various film committees, etc. I was hoping for some lovely anecdotes.

Best,

Barbara

Oops caps lock! I never had the pleasure of working with Jenny Agutter. I wish I had, but our paths never crossed.

Hello, Mr. Moxey,

We have missed the pleasure of your posts. I note that you directed "Foxhole in Cairo" (1960) with James Robertson Justice, Niall MacGinnis, and a young actor called Michael Caine, who had a small part as a German. Did you shoot any of the film on location and are there any memories you would care to share of working with Justice or the rest of the cast?

Thanks so much.

I'm very glad you made it back in. And thanks for the answer about Foxhole in Cairo although it would have been fascinating for you to have had the opportunity of shooting in Cairo. No doubt location shooting brings its own problems, but it's certainly thrilling for viewers.

Best,

Barbara

Default Baker/Berman

Mr Moxey,

I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to send me a private message?

I wanted to talk/e-mail you about your work for Bob Baker and Monty Berman however your private message box is apparently full!

Thanks and best wishes,

Ian Dickerson,
Honorary Secretary, The Saint Club
