Robert Allen, born in New Zealnd but came to Britain to work in the film industry as a sound recordist, died in June 2006 in New Zealand. Films he worked on included Clive Donner's The Caretaker (1963), Young Cassidy (1965), 10 Rillington Place (1971), Caravan to Vaccares (1974), Scrubbers (1982) and The Shooting Party (1984).
