By navel gazing I mean self absorbed and not 'detached from reality'
What are they teaching youngsters in British film schools these days that has lead to us not having an film 'industry' anymore? and why are youngsters still expected to work for nothing because 'its a privilege' to work in the films?
This was not the case in the 1950/60s. Hundreds of relatively minor films were being turned out year after year, film people moved from one job to another. Most of them were cheap but most of them were at least watchable, some excellent.
No groveling for funding,it was there because producers knew what they were doing and the script was there that had a beginning, middle and end.
