Hitchcock's mistake with Tippi Hedren is trying to make a star out of her. She was beautiful, but she couldn't act. The reason her career went nowhere without Hitchcock casting her is she was lousy. Hitchcock was a much nicer director than Otto Premminger who really was a sleaze.
