BBC The one show this week had a topic about extinct animals such as the woolly mammoth and sabre tooth tiger ( or sabre tooth cat as its

correct name is :o ) as technology advances it will soon be possible to bring these species back .

But the question is should we ? and on the note of cost should that money be better spent on preserving the animals that are under threat now etc

Alexei Sayle who was a guest on the show made the point of we all have seen the movie Jurassic park and it did not end well

what do you all think ?

Older women presenters are 'missing' from TV

Do we really care as long as they present it correctly or do we want 'younger' presenters ?

New figures show that less than six per cent of TV presenters in the UK aged over 50 are women.
Of 481 regular on-air presenters at the BBC, Sky, ITN and Channel 5 who are over 50, just 26 of them are female.
The report was compiled by the Older Women's Commission, which was set up by Labour's shadow culture secretary Harriet Harman.
Ms Harman said the figures showed "a combination of ageism and sexism... that doesn't apply to men."
The figures showed that 30% of TV presenters are over 50, a figure that roughly corresponds to the 34% of the UK population aged 50 and above.
Of the TV presenters aged over 50, however, 82% were men.
When it came to the TV workforce both on and off screen, only 7% are women over the age of 50.

When I was a child in the early 60's we had an uncle who lived in Toronto who sent over (I'm pretty sure) loose leaf comics-(like broadsheet newspaper's) nearly all had the 'Harvey Comics' character's: 'Little Lotta' 'Richie Rich' 'Little Dot' and so on. I'm trying to identify the TITLE or the banner they were under. It definitely was not an A4 stapled comic, but were loose pages-any member's have an idea? I am looking at around 1962-65 time. They had loads of ads for sweets (candy) and trinkets for kids-all were brightly coloured.
Best to all

Seeing it's the start of the flat racing season for a bit of fun will be putting horses on here which have the above criteria, the fantasy betting rules will be set out below.

1. Flat Racing Season only.

2. Each Way bet on anything 12/1 and over.

3. To Win any price below that but no bet on an odds-on.

4. If the horse wins it will not be backed again for the remainder of the season.

5. A fantasy bank of £500 with 2% of it being bet.

The method of choosing the horses will be a British film, actor, tv programme. No form etc will be taken into account. This is simply for amusement as I know there are a few horse racing enthusiasts here. I could miss a few ( through failing eyesight or ignorance of a film name) so feel free to point out any. All horses will be posted before racing begins.

Saturday 11th May.

Robin Hood 2.05 Ascot, 25-1, £10 e/w

Haaf a Sixpence 3.50 Ascot, 12-1, £10 e/w

Great Expectations 5.10 Lingfield, 16-1, £10 e/w

eBay Authentication Request
A few hours ago I had 2/3 unexpected pop-ups - just on eBay UK web-site pages - requesting authentication of my eBay Username and Password. Other eBay members have received same message.

I've never seen type of request before and it looked highly suspicious - so I did not respond.
If anyone gets this unusual message request on any eBay pages I would advise not to respond - could be a phishing scam.

I ran a full Malwarebytes scan - and nothing showed up.
Looks like an eBay issue.
I've mailed eBay asking for their advice.
