Default The Best British Sitcom Poll

We're going to strive to discover what Britmovie users regards as the greatest British sitcom ever. Will it be the same as recent polls on the BBC/UKGold, or do our tastes differ?

Coming soon will be 10 polls, each containing 10 titles from which you may select 4; these will go forward to the next round.

Is Goodnight Sweatheart in any way related to Goodnight Sweetheart?

Are we allowed to choose less than four, or would that cock up the whole system?

I asked this question under one of the polls, but perhaps you'd prefer to keep the conversation to this one thread.

My question was whether we are allowed to select less than four?

I had great difficulty on most of the polls, as there were never more than one or two I ever had more than a passing acquaintance with.

I would also only want to vote for three of them

Of course, 4 is just a guideline figure as most have at least 2 good series.

Cheers.

Hope there are more polls coming, as my two favourites (The Good Life and As Time Goes By) haven't appeared yet!

Well, now that you've posted all ten parts, I'd like to go on record with the charge that you only omitted Roll Over Beethoven because you knew it would win hands down.

Or because he, like me, has never heard of it?
A comedy, starring Frank Burnside?
There's not a lot of information to be found about it.

Obscure ITV sitcom from the 1980s. I don't know if I even ever saw an episode. I just remember seeing it listed in the TV Times when I was a kid, and ever since it has (for me, anyway) epitomized the crassest, lowliest kind of sitcom for which ITV is famous.

I certainly hadn't! Obviously there are more comedies but would any notably poll high? (Heil Hitler I'm Home! apart)

Common As Muck... a sit-com?

A comedy drama, surely?
