Just spent an hour or so watching MR COHEN TAKES A WALK . For anyone who has seen the film do you know the village location - where he tries to get a lift to London..

Presumably somewhere not too far from Teddington - do you have any screencaps?

Looks like the junction of Guileshill Lane and Rose Lane to me and the mileages to Ockham and Cobham match up as well.

Shere is usually quite recognisable because of the old wooden volunteer fire station in the middle of the village. It's the village that Dr Reeves looks at through his camera obscura in A Matter of Life and Death.

Errm, I included the photo of Shere because I didn't think it was Shere. When people film in Shere they nearly always include the old fire station.

The place that HarryShand mentioned is about 8 miles from Shere

I actually said around Shere, ie the lanes and byways. I know Shere pretty well as it is quite local to me

Road junction is Hungry Hill Lane near Ockham
I can't post an image I'm afraid... does the forum post image from computer work with safari?

I have just searched high and low for a jettied building in Surrey. It is the "old Jail" in Shere, in Lower Street alongside the stream. StreetView doesn't extend there.
