The warehouse was just off Stephenson Street NW10. but it’s now under part of the Willesden Freightliner Terminal.

There is quite a useful Harry Palmer site showing a number of the locations used if you weren't already aware of it.

thanks Alan F. been scratching my head with this one for sometime, I originally thought it was at Neasden railyard at the end of Quainton st. ,but stephenson st. looks spot on ,especially for a spot of tx 82 with cc1 authority. wickerman

Ipcress File is one of those growing number of treasures the BBC pops into the iplayer schedules without notice. Its currently playing until next Thursday (5th January) in the Films section:-

Why couldn't they have shown it in the full widescreen format? For such a carefully composed film it was cruel to chop it to fit the 16:9 frame.

The supermarket scene was filmed in The Broadway, Wimbledon, SW19 probably in a Safeway. The location no longer exists but luckily the buildings opposite do and they are visible during the supermarket scene. A name on one of those buildings is 'Pierce & Son' who were at 14 The Broadway according to the Kelly's street directory.

A location I've wondered about is the park and bandstand where Caine and Nigel Green listen to military music. The park is overlooked by what must be L.C.C. style flats and the backs of the park seats also have 'L.C.C.' stamped on them, so this is clearly not a 'Royal Park'. But which park is it?

I seem to remember it being the Royal Hospital in Chelsea but haven't got time to check at the moment.

And any idea why a supposed gourmet is buying tinned mushrooms and - even worse - tinned prawn curry? Shocking.

Would this be the same location where Nigel Green arrives in his MGB to meet Caine...? If it is, it's a fare bet that he wouldn't be able to do so nowadays.

(Marioki beat me to it... )
That location is in Hyde Park, often mistakenly identified as Rotten Row, the location is actually Serpentine Road which runs along the north edge of the Serpentine lake, it hasn't changed that much, being a wide road its a popular spot for roller skaters these days. I have often wondered about the bandstand location though as mentioned by Christopher Matheson.

It's Kennington Park. A 1950s map shows the bandstand, seating area and tennis courts in the correct order across the centre of the park (only the seating area survives) and the flats are in Kennington Park Road.

Does anybody know where the police station scene was filmed ? With Dave the barman from "Minder" as the sergeant. Through an open window a shop called WEST can be seen across the road.
