Nice one Maurice......I remember during the 70's several episodes of Dr Who were filmed in the English China Clay pits around St Austell....and also seen those 2 Hammer classics "The Reptile" & "The Plague of the Zombies" (which also makes a brief appearance in the film "Fright").....

    Cheers

Doctor Blood's Coffin is set in the (fictional) town of Porthcarron, Cornwall and actually filmed on location in Cornwall (unlike The Reptile for example).

It is, the exteriors of Tin mines are seen, though I assume the interior scenes of the Tin mine are filmed at a studio, though I could be wrong, I went down one once.......never again!

As well as the real Cornish tin mines in Doctor Blood's Coffin there is a real Cornish village (not sure which one they filmed at though).

I am not 100% sure that what we see is a tin mine but I stand to be corrected - looks more like some old medieval ruins to me. We never see a proper entrance to the place, they just go into an alcove in the ruins and then we cut to them in the mines below (a set at Walton Studios). No sign of any steps or any indication as to how they have got down below.

German film crews use Cornwall often,Padstow has been used on a number of occasions as have Bodmin and Wenford station.

Much of the 3 hour TV film was all filmed on location. It is a sort of horror......

The Cornish village of Zennor stood in for the Porthcarron of the story in Doctor Blood's Coffin.

And I believe Carn Galver Mine, West Penwith was also used as a location.

Well its quite barren & remote in places...and Bodmin Moor is a bit bleak & spooky when the fog descends.

The unspoilt coastal villages have there own unique character...the area is steeped in history & legends..

Here is a link to a website all about films and TV shows filmed in Cornwall. I don't see any mention in it of Doctor Blood's Coffin, though.
