Here is a nice bit of useless information about the shot. as the camera pans down to the shop at the bottom of the screen are 2 green bus shelters. These were erected by Salford City Transport and were the only bus shelters they erected in the Manchester City Transport area (Salford stops just the other side or the Irwell) for one route that terminated there, these currently reside in the Museum of Transport and i've had the 'dubious' pleasure of having to erect them in the past.

I've past here on various visits to Manchester, but next time I'm there I'll make a point of stopping and having a good look around.

    Cheers Jim.

Susan Littler was such a talented actress and she died so young.

The scenes were Geoffrey goes to his place of work - a branch of Barclays Bank - are in St.Ann's Square. Although the area has changed dramatically (it is now pedestrianised and much smarter) the bank is still there and is still a branch of Barclays. The adjoining telephone boxes have gone and the building next door, like George Best's old shop, is now a Starbucks.
