I've been tidying up the UK location tree for Wales in the IMDb. As I'm a half-Welsh Londoner I understand about all those strange looking place names they have in Wales :)
However, I have a few "orphans" that I can't place correctly. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Location "Beulah, Wales, UK" Used by - Z for Zachariah (1984) (TV) Options include: Beulah, Powys Beulah, Ceredigion Beulah, Powys Beulah, Ceredigion Location "Deri, Wales, UK" Used by - "Doctor Who" (1963) Options include: Deri, Caerphilly Deri, Carmarthenshire Deri, Monmouthshire Location "Newtown, Wales, UK" Used by - "Mortimer's Law" (1998) Options include: Newtown, Blaenau Gwent Newtown, Powys Location "Dolgoth, Wales, UK" Used by - Unledded (1994) (TV) Jimmy Page & Robert Plant tour. "Dolgoth, Wales" is listed on various sites as one of the venues but nobody says where in Wales it is. Any assistance gratefully received. Actually, I'm suprised there are so few "orphans" Steve |

Dolgoch is near Tal-y-llyn in Powys (I think, haven't checked on a map).
Since recording at Bron-Yr-Aur, near Machynlleth during the 70s Led Zep have done a fair bit of filming thereabouts. I think Plant or maybe Page owns a farm in the area. A Zep site will have the lowdown as fans do frequent pilgrimages to Wales. Never heard of those tv shows violent |

It's actually in Gwynedd although there's another one in Sir Ceredigion (Cardiganshire) but given your other clues I'll assume it's the one up near Tal-y-llyn. Thanks Steve |

I live on the border (near Wrexham... or Wrecsam) and once you crossover everywhere has two names, and there's so much writing on the road you'd think a graffiti artist has been at work. |

When I was tidying up the names of locations in the IMDb I found some Welsh names (like Llanyblodwel) that were actually in Shropshire :)
That border always was a bit vague. Once you get deep into the countryside in Wales there aren't that many roadsigns and those that are there are often only in Welsh. When you're driving down a country lane and you see a sign warning about a bend you know that they'd only bother to put a notice that far from anywhere if it's a big, sharp bend. So you'd better slow down. Diolch yn fawr Steve |

I've done a few visits to the area with one of our members who lives nearby. We've walked and climbed those hills and shown the film in the village where it was filmed. Quote:

I thought it was mainly filmed in Fishguard.
I wasn't overly impressed by the boathouse when I've been there but Laugharne is a nice enough fishing village. As for the film - terrible. Stick to the original radio version. It was subtitled "A play for voices" and is always better if you let your imagination (& the words) draw the pictures rather than have them fixed by someone else. Although the recent radio version was quite good as well. With a new cast except for Burton who they extracted from the original. Steve |

Thanks Steve Edit: Someone beat me to it. It is now recorded in the IMDb as Deri, Caerphilly. |
