I've got a birds eye view of what was the sweet factory in Up The Junction and the only resemblance is the wall that supports the railway embankment at Nine Elms. I did post a lot of pics on The Sweeney forum some years ago. Bear with me. I might start a new thread full of the pics.
Any chance you could dig those photos out and post them. I'd be most interested to see them. I hadn't realised that Petergate was used the The Sweeney episode Jigsaw: any idea what it was used for? I'll add it to my list of Sweeney locations and to IMDB.

I worked out Usk Road as the location of flying Rover P6 in Drag Act, but it's very difficult to find points of similarity between then and now; the flats on the west side are probably the same ones.

The scene where you see the girls leaving the cafe where they spend thier break, is lookin South down Wandsworth Road.

Just to the right of the bus, the building you can see with the white window frames is The Bell pub:

UP THE JUNCTION - WORTHING

The Beach Hotel was the one where the characters stay in Worthing in Up the Junction you might also glimpse it in the opening minutes of The Birthday Party
(1968).

The argument in the car about where to eat in Worthing took place in York Road by the side of Warnes Hotel, Worthing. This hotel also appears in Wish You Were Here as a posh tea room in Bournemouth.

cheers

The final shots are on the steps of the town hall, although the cutaway appears to have been shot in Battersea

The cutaway was shot in Brentford High Street. The initial view is looking towards Chiswick as the van pulls out (with Brentford gas works in the background) panning round to face Hounslow as it drives away.

Nice one Alan - I knew it wasn't Battersea. Excellent sleuthing as ever

Yes, nice one Alan. The blue gasholder in the background of the first picture is a useful clue.

I wonder why they chose to use Brentford High Street rather than the view along Kings Road from the steps of the "Court"? Maybe Brentford High Street was more photogenic!

I've updated the location information on IMDB, so that should be visible in a few days' time. I've also added the Worthing locations from earlier in the thread.

I spent ages looking for the Fullers pub and blue gasometer with no joy.

A brief google on Brentford High Street pubs reveals it was called the Red Lion - demolished in 1970 after they built a new version across the road - where McD's stands today.

I live 2 minutes walk from the old Red Lion pub...I didn't even recognise it was Brentford when I last watched the film.

I do remember the gas tower but still didn't twig it, but having said that it has changed a lot...especially the first screen shot with the pub.

Would you like some more?
I have been right through the film and found most of the missing locations, not all worthy of the IMDB but valid nonetheless.

If they're valid, they're worthy of the IMDb

They want the full location like "White Hart Lane, Barnes, London, England, UK" to fit into their Location Tree (for England). Note that they don't go by postcode but by district for the larger cities like London. Then give a short description of what was filed there so that it can be identified, like "The shop they go to in 'Wimbledon' for the abortion".

Looking forward to finding out where SK's mansion house was - I assumed somewhere around Chelsea but couldn't find anything.

Nice find on the Sweeney forum as well

Thanks Steve. What I meant by “not worthy” are those locations which are on screen for only a few seconds and which are difficult to categorize i.e. no particular building, not linked to any character, don’t play a part in the story, in short, awkward to describe in the text only pages of the IMDB and probably best left to this forum where one can use pictures to put across a point
