Hi!
Does anybody know the exact location of the Gallop Hotel in Murder at the gallop?
Thanks!

The local newspaper in February 1963 said that they also filmed at the King's Arms Hotel in Amersham

I am trying to discover the building used for the "Gallops Hotel"
From memory - Aldenham, a large barn-like building next to the church.
Go through the barn door to get to the main house.
Was turned into a garden centre - has never been a real pub or hotel.

As there are so many learned individuals here, I hope someone can answer my question.
In 'Murder at the Gallop', when Miss Marple goes to visit Cora, only to discover her dead in her chair with a hat pin, does any one know where Cora's house is located? Sorry, I don't have any images which might help.
I think I might recognize it from a house in Denham, but I'm not entirely sure.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
Hillfield Castle was used as the house of the old man played by Finlay Currie.
Wellendcanons.
According to this german website: Die Marple - Filme
there is a now picture of the house with an information:
"Hier radelt Miss Marple zum Haus, um sich einmal "portraitieren" zu lassen."
"Das Haus von "Mrs. Landskenet" und der Haushälterin "Miss Milchrest" steht in Little Marlow und ist heute eine Hundepension."
The house is in Little Marlow and is now a kennel.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the house in Little Marlow by Multimap Bird's Eye and Google Maps Satellite.

They even have shots of Hillfield Castle - that's a risk even I would not take. I was once given the third degree by the owner for stopping my car near the gates! I also had some very 'short' letters from him when I made formal requests to visit the property.
That's fantastic - great info!
I actually asked my father yesterday (as we grew up in Denham in the very early 1970s - in fact, two doors down from Miss Marple's abode - and he does not remember the house either.
Little Marlow it is - thanks SainT

Not certain, but if you go down Church Lane, Little Marlow, from Google earth view, there is a house with a circular drive to the right of the Church. This looks the most likely.
The house next to the Church used to be owned by Mel B (Spice Girls) but she has now moved.
This is difficult but one possibility is Greenlands Lane which runs from Rignall Road to Prestwood near Great Missenden. It might be looking down the lane towards Rignall Road but it's only a suggestion.
