Can any one tell me where the disused RAF Base was that the film makers used for the gangs hideout after the train robbery in this film.

I am amazed at how you all track down the locations. So heres one from Robbery starring stanley baker. The gems are picked up in hatton garden then make there way to the crash scene? Clue embankment place. The ambulance change over to jaguar then the real chase begins. In the film the police give directions but where are they really? And does anyone know where the change over was?Cant wait.

It's a long time since I've seen this (and thanks to Optimum, I'm now going to have wait until at least the 21st of July before I see it again) but I seem to remember some if it being filmed around the Farringdon Road area.

one scene was the other side of the River Thames to Fulham Football Club. It was a scene with a small childrens playground, I think it is still there.

Lenny, I'll be posting up some screen grabs in a separate thread before too long to try & identify all the locations in the chase sequence. So far I've identified some of the central London ones and a couple of locations in W9. The school crossing sequence looks reminiscent of the Abercorn Place/Carlton Hill NW8 area.

Went in to London today and photographed the location where the opening scenes were filmed in Hatton Garden near the junction with Greville Street.

A chauffeur driven car drives south along Hatton Garden from Clerkenwell Road:

The chauffeur parks outside numbers 19-21 before entering to collect the principal:

With the timing device planted, the gang start to follow the principal's car and pass Tayside Floor Coverings at No. 15 Holborn Viaduct on the way (Thanks Bob )

As you can see, it's now a Tesco Express and the telephone junction box has gone.

I'll be posting up a few more of the known locations and a request to identify some of the unknowns shortly.

Nice pics Mariocki, trust 'Tesco' to put their oar in!

Maybe an idea to transfer the pics from the 'JPJones' shop thread to this one, one thing I've wondered is where the scene was filmed where you see the Car going into the back of the Removal van, it certainly dosen't look Southern England to me!, I had the impressions the small bungalows seen maybe in a former Mining town?

I think the removal van scene might have been shot in Ireland but I'd be happy to be proved wrong. The screen grabs were done using VLC media player.

Incidentally, there was a TV crew in Hatton Garden today filming in roughly the same place as Tony's first pic from The High Fence. Not sure what it was but they were using a Range Rover with the registration 455 KO so it might be something to do with boxing. The weather was atrocious so I'm afraid I didn't hang around to find out.

I'm not allowed to post attachments for some reason but can confirm the Ambulance gets dumped in Harbridge Avenue SW15 - as mumbled by the policeman in the film.
