Thought a few of you might be interested in my recent podcast made up of creepy TV themes from the 70's early 80's, there's a few other chilling surprises in there as well:

It's called "The Stuff of Nightmares"

Free to listen to or download here:

It features a few suggestions made my members of this forum...

Be great to hear your thoughts and feedback....try not to have nightmares!!

    Thanks for that!

I have been playing my t.v music from spotify recently so glad I have found another source too. The stuff you have put together on the scary t.v themes is great!

Also the track called `Dalek` on there is giving me the creeps too!

Excellent work Markmorb, reminiscently creepy stuff indeed!

I'm going to download it and play it through the window this Halloween, it might just keep the treak or treaters away.... Muahahahahaha!!

Nice piece of work indeed, that Picture Box theme has been the source of many a fearful remembering amongst friends of mine, especially as it was a programme we would watch in a darkened school hall at Primary

On a different but connected subject I'm rather fond of the Xtro album that your label released.

Thanks for all the comments everyone...

I enjoyed putting it together but really gave myself a load of scary moments, lots of checking over my shoulder, goosebumps, etc. just as it should be I guess...

Bruiser15 - Thank's, really glad you like it...especially pleased as that is the pseudonym that I release my solo music projects under

Surely the scariest theme music is "Handbags and Gladrags" by Mike d'Abo

It's the theme music to The Office

A couple of well-creepy classical pieces often used in films and television programme are Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta by Bela Bartok and the Organ Concerto by Francis Poulenc.

    Great Post

Hear Hear Jim, The Borley Church "sigh" still raises the hairs on the back of my neck!

I wish it had been the original Tom Baker Dr Who theme in there, rather than the fizzy early eighties version, but that's a minor quibble - great work markmorb, very well put together and atmospheric

A bit too "recent" for this mix, but the "Midsomer Murders" theme is a bit creepy.... one to include on a follow-up "Volume Two" perhaps?

What is it about little girls in horror shows that makes them so creepy? Supernatural does a fine line in 'em and they freak me out every time.

Great theme that - after seeing in that clip that Tom Clegg directed (and Diana Dors was in it) I wanted to see the whole episode!

There was an American series called One Step Beyond...a Twilight Zone sort of thing...that had spooky theme music I've never forgotten.

This isn't The One Step Beyond theme, but background music always heard when things got creepy, and more eerie and memorable than the official theme.

EXCELLENT WORK! They don't write them like that anymore! I can't think of a creepy TV them from the last decade, TV shows really need to go back to back to the basics.
