It seems my earlier recordings are getting more popular. Ages ago for a music library I recorded a 'soundalike' of Moonight Serenade. It's now been in 'Memphis Belle', The Bobby Darin film 'Beyond the sea' and on ITV3 'Foyle's War' - in fact they used it twice so they obviously liked it. perhaps I should start again?

    Hi,
Have a go. Your more expert than me. A demo acetate I am in somewhere, that was made at Nash Mills Village Hall, (a place I am sure you know) was rejected for a beat group contest on television. The BBC scrapped a film of me playing the piano with my feet, for That's Life. Hughie Green Said he wanted to hear me and thanked me. Well what he did say was, 'We wanna hear you.' And when he thanked me, he said, 'Thankyou very much. Next please!'

So have a go. You have done better than me.

    Alan French.

Following my previous posting about my Moonlight Serenade soundalike, I've just heard it again on Yesterday TV - this time it was in 'Ration Book Britain'. I'd love a quid for everytime my recordings have been used on TV,films and Radio over the years.

Respect to all of you that produce this music.
I thought you all got a pound or two whenever it is used in films/TV?
...or at least went to an musicians' old folks home or something?

but please dont be put off, whenever you get a passing idea, put it to music please before it passes away completely ..and it might just lead you to a proper reward eventually?

.Some of the best themes have been library music.
