I've heard it used in quite a few things, does anyone know what the music at 2:50 into this clip (from a - imho rather tiresome and overstated - episode of "Dispatches" about Prince Charles) is?

    thanks

I ran this music though Gracenote (formerly the CD Database). It couldn't find any match, so I suspect it's just a generic piece of library music, created for ads, documentaries etc. With a name like 'Royal Fanfare'.

BTW, have you used one of this year's Sony TVs? You can press a Track ID button on the remote and it searches Gracenote to ID almost any music you've got coming through the speakers. And presents a music encyclopaedia entry and discography for the artist.

As well as TV / Movie themes and backgrounds, it even works playing in from an old VHS or Audiotape! Awesome.

Hmmm. One and only post from a new member, which is plausible for the first 3 sentences, then becomes a bit "advertorial". Surely someone can do better?

Give the guy a break, ghughesarch. At least he addressed the topic of the thread, unlike yourself who seems to get a pleasure from being sarcastic to new members in the belief that rudeness can pass for wit.

I was going to reply and mention another, better, "name that tune" type of service. But if you're only going to be rude I don't think I'll bother

It happened once Heinrich, (it wasn't meant to be witty, just an over-irritated reading of the post as I saw it) and I've apologised to him by PM. Must not let myself post when I'm grumpy and I'm sorry about that - I was just hoping that nearly 2 weeks after posting the query, someone had actually identified the music. I've heard it in other things, more than once, (can't remember what, though) and it's entirely possible it's a library track but I'm surprised that an identification hasn't been made.
