Ah yes - I posted that YouTube clip when I discovered the cheesy version had been used on the DVD, just so everyone could hear the original track.

BTW, Alan Haven appears to have covered the track, but I don't think he composed it. The opening titles of the UK version (not the one on DVD) credit Joe Glenn, Larry Greene and Bob Sande with composing the title track 'IMAGE'. While Johnny Gregory composed the background score for the rest of the movie.

Drat!

My YouTube account has been suspended, even though it was for copyrighted material that oads of others are still posting.

I'll try and post the title sequence again, through another host, for you all to refer to.

IMAGE as used on the film credits (played by Alan Haven, with orch acc) is composed by 'Glenn, Sande and Greene'

The sheet music publisher is Shapiro Bernstein and Co' if you require the sheet music....

If my memory serves me correctly and I have the right film, I think the track you are referring to is a source music cue and it is indeed called 'Image' but the artist was Hank Levine. It was released on a single in the UK around '61. Side B was a slower more sultry version. Without looking at the film I can't remember which version was used.
Haven also played the organ on the "From Russia With Love" main title track film version which wasn't featured on the LP.
Here is a link to some more information:
