Default Soundtrack Frenzy (Hitchcock)

Does anybody know if there was a record, probably a CD on the market with the full soundtrack of Hitchcocks film "Frenzy", composed by Ron Goodwin? I only can find the music from the opening scene but looking for the complete soundtrack. Can anybody help? thumbs_u

I'm sure there is. Mancini's rejected music also appears on some of his cd's.

Here's the Ron Goodwin site, Wilfried:
http://www.rongoodwin.co.uk/

but there's no mention of the score you want. I doubt if it's been recorded.

Thanks for those information. But it doesn't help. There are no furthermore infos if there ever was a complete soundtrack. I like Ron Goodwins music and first met it at the Miss Maple's with Margartet Rutherford. Henry Mancini was the first choise and has written some parts, but the main composer was Ron Goodwin.

Here's a suggestion (bit round the houses tho'), buy the dvd of Frenzy (several on eBay) and use a dvd-ripper program to copy the music soundtrack to your hard drive, then burn it to a cd.

Hi plasticjock,
sorry, but not a good idea. I have the DVD of that film and if I would copy it on CD the only track I would have without dialoges would be the maintitle. And this is available on several CDs.

I must be missing something. I adore Ron Goodwin's work, but I've always considered 'Frenzy's score to be rather a mis-step for both Goodwin and Hitchcock. Goodwin's style is simply not Hitchcockian.

Hitchcock fired Mancini because he felt that score was too much like Bernard Herrmann. For me, there should have been more Herrmann-esque material in the score. Goodwin has a too positive touch to his music for a movie of that type.

I don't think a soundtrack CD has ever been released for this score by Ron Goodwin. Knowing Goodwin, it would play better separate from the movie... undoubtedly its good music. It just isn't Hitchcockian.

There is no complete soundtrack CD. Only the main theme has been done. The DVD documentary uses the same music and there is a bit of music under the closing titles without other noises. Same goes for the documentary of Saboteur I believe.
