Default Wuthering Heights (1971) song.

A difficult one, I know. But does anyone know if the vocal version of the theme from the 1971 British version of Wuthering Heights, starring Anna Calder-Marshall and Timothy Dalton and entitled "I Was Born In Love With You", was ever released on record in this country? I know that a soundtrack LP was issued in the US at the time, but I'm not sure if it contained the song, which was not included in the final release version of the film.

Wuthering Heights was one of three elaborate remakes of classic novels made around that time. The other two were David Copperfield (1970) and Jane Eyre (1971). They were all distinguished by superb music scores. David Copperfield was scored by Malcolm Arnold (his last score for a film); Jane Eyre was scored by John Williams and Wuthering Heights was scored by Michel Legrand.

However, Legrand's main title theme was the only one of the trio to have lyrics written for it. They were, if I remember correctly, written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

I'm sure I once saw a Dusty Springfield LP with the song on many years ago in the 1970's, but was it ever issued on a single?

The American-International soundtrack LP did include a 3:07 song I WAS BORN IN LOVE WITH YOU sung by the Mike Curb Congregation......
