Do you mean the "Sanctus" played at the cafe?
It's by Les Troubadours Du Roi Baudouin

sorry for the very late reply, i am a new member to this forum.

many years ago "if" was shown on TV followed by an announcement that the music from the

cafe scene was available as a 45 vinyl single.

this i duly bought and have to this day. a superb film im sure you will agree.

if i remember correctly it had the theme tune from "the master game" (a chess tournament program)

on the "B" side.

Default Music from "If"

Tagging in late to a question (2005) regarding the above, the following may help.
The recording was by Philips 319 929 BF and was called Sanctus Kyre by - as other users have rightly stated - Les Troubadours du Roi Baudouin. I have a 45rpm of this but am looking for a CD. According to the following website - Missa Luba and Congolese Folk Songs by Les Troubadours du Rei Baudouin - the recording has been re-released on CD ........ I have yet to track this down and if anybody does - PLEASE let me know. Thank you.

Hello Katinka

Here are two sites which you will find useful

HMV.co.uk: albums: Missa Luba: Misa Criolla: Misa Flamenca: Includes Dvd (2004)

Decca Music Group - New Release

Decca provide the details of what you want but HMV sell it, they have a great number of stores throughout UK and also deliver. I have never used them myself but as a long standing retailer they should be safe to use.

regards

Anyway, does anyone know the them tune to it? It has an African sound.

I would dearly like to know, the film and its theme music hold alot of memories for me.

All help greatfully recieved.

I have the original Philips "Misa Luba" vinyl album 33rpm which I bought in the seventies. Like Mick Travis I was in the habit of lining up my record player stylus with the appropriate track! Must dig it out of the loft, it's probably a collectors piece! Great music though.
