Default 1960's & 1970's Songs From Films Released on 7" vinyl

I have been meaning to start this thread for ages.

I have a large collection of 45s from the 1960's and early part of the 1970's some of which include songs featured in films and film title songs. Here's a few samples and I hope to upload more over the coming weeks.

The above is the 1969 Pye Demo single release by the Max Harris Orchestra of the film title to the 1968 film Baby Love starring Linda Hayden, Keith Barron, Ann Lynn and Diana Dors

The above is the 1970 Warner Brothers Demo single release by the Johnny Harris Orchestra of the film title to the 1970 film Fragment of Fear starring David Hemmings, Gayle Hunnicutt, Daniel Massey, Flora Robson & Arthur Lowe.

The above is Heinz's first solo single release 'Dreams Do Come True' on the Decca label in 1963 from the film Farewell Performance which aside from featuring Heinz & The Tornados starred Delphi Lawrence, Frederick Jaeger, Alfred Burke & David Kernan

The above is the film title song by The Niteshades on the CBS label to the 1965 film Be My Guest which starred David Hemmings, Andrea Monet, Steve Marriott, Joyce Blair, Avril Angers, David Healy, Pamela Ann Davy & Ivor Salter. Aside from The Nite Shades also featured was Jerry Lee Lewis, Nashville Teens, The Plebs, Kenny & The Wranglers.

The above is the 1969 film title release by the very good American harmony group Association on the Warner Brothers label entitled Goodbye Colombus. The film starred Richard Benjamin, Ali MacGraw and Jack Klugman

The above is a 1968 release on the Parlophone label by Cliff Bennett of the film title track from the 1967 film House of a 1000 Dolls which starred Vincent Price, Martha Hyer, George Nader, Maria Rohm and Ann Smryner.

The above is a 1969 Decca Demo release by The Dudley Moore Trio entitled Keep it Up. The B-Side track is called Gently. Both tracks were from the 1968 film Inadmissible Evidence which starred Nicol Williamson, Eleanor Fazan, Jill Bennett, Peter Sallis and Eileen Atkins.

The above is the 1962 film title song Some People sung by Valerie Mountain on the Pye label. The film starred Kenneth More, Angela Douglas, David Hemmings, Ray Brooks, Harry H Corbett & Anneke Wills. Angela Douglas's voice is dubbed by Valerie Mountain.

The album is also well worth getting. Released on UK WB the same year. Charles Fox provides the incidental music.

The label of this forty-seven years old single has been scanned in a flat bed scanner, which doesn't give good results as far as scanning record labels are concerned, so I have increased the contrast on the resultant image so that the shiny silver lettering shows up better. I intend to buy myself a digital camera later this year.

The song on this record, released in April, 1963, was not featured in the film Sammy Going South, but was written to promote the film. The lyrics were set to one of the peices of music from the film, "Cocky's Theme", composed by Tristram Cary. The then twelve years old Fergus McClelland, who starred as Sammy in the film, sings the song on the record. The single didn't chart and the regular pressing must be pretty rare by now and this demo copy, which is in excellent condition, even rarer.

Originally, it had been arranged for Decca to release this single in time for the film's Royal Film Performance premiere at the Odeon, Leicester Square, London, on Monday, March 18th, 1963, so that it would be on sale in the foyer. But the release of the record was subsequently held back until April 1963, so that put paid to that.

Nobody ends like they started out.

Black lettering on a white background works better as far as flat bed scanning of record labels is concerned. Here is another rare single from 1968 that got nowhere chart-wise.

Also included with The Peddlers 7" inch single release came the above flyer advertising the release of Goodbye Gemini.

I notice the definition of your images isn't very sharp, Joe. Could this be because ordinary digital cameras are not very good at taking close-up shots of something the size of a record label or did you perhaps not hold your camera steady enough?
