They talk of PR but this for me was the greatest spontaneous PR excercise before or since. It stopped people in the streets and the traffic - spelbinding stuff. For me the Beatles constantly did the most ridiculous things at first glance and, then after, a short time these nonsenses turned to genius. Always original always brillient.
Love-in, Peace-in, reflected the truth of flower power -what simplicity
RIP John Lennon.

I love old British films! None better.

Not forgetting George Harrison, please ...

And all those who were part of the phenomenon: Road managers Mal Evans and Neil Aspinall, press officer Derek Taylor, manager Brian Epstein, his secretary Wendy Hanson, AND personal assistant Alistair Taylor. Plus of course two of the Beatle Wives, Maureen and Linda. All dead. How depressing that they're slowly leaving us.

While today's music is mostly bland and uninspiring, the 'Rooftop Concert' continues to excite, always making me wish I could perform like they did that day.

When you understand the past, the confusion of the present becomes clearer - John Betjeman.

I did not forget any of them only John should be remembered not only for his gifted genius but the tragic way his life was cut short. I thought this would be understood.

I've heard that when the Police turned up, they'd have liked it if they'd had been physically removed from their instruments. i.e. law and order and the establishment finished off The Beatles.

But the police just told them to turn the volume down a bit. Ha.

I've seen a clip of The Rutles and the police do physically remove them and arrest them too. I don't think that's the version I've got on my DVD though?

But yes it's about time we got the 'Let It Be' film on DVD. Plus a decent version of 'Magical Mystery Tour' (instead of that region one video transfer).

Pink Floyd are just as frustrating, because they've still not released a DVD featuring all their early singles and their 'B' sides. Those naughty enigmas.

Look at the onlookers. Even the young and groovy look so staid and square next to the Beatles. Same with the All You Need is Love footage ... the Beatles were just so effortlessly different and ahead of everyone. And can I be revolutionary and include Ringo in the Beatles?

Just so long as you include 'George Best' as the 5th Beatle. Or should that be Doctor Who number 2 'Patrick Troughton'?

Although Pat didn't know how to play 'I Am The Walrus' on his recorder during 'The Three Doctors'.
