Default Flaxton Boys music?

Whilst I'm updating my record collection...can anyone recall the music to Flaxton Boys (early 70's) I had it once, but the CD has escaped into anonymity.

TIA

and sod's law I found it...Prokofiev! (I knew it had an "ov" or "ev" somewhere)

Symphony No. 1, Op 25 "Classical" Molto Vivace

Great track, but was the Falxton Boys as good? Filmed in Yorkshire at erm... Ripley Castle I think??

I loved the show as a kid, but I remember at the time my parents moaning the boys coudn't act! I was too young to notice, they were just ripping yarns for an 8 year old!

Hi Sanndevil, Yes I too recall watching it avidly..not seen it since original transmission...why are archive childrens programmes rarely re-run? (not for kids of course) Kids from 42B was another of that era that i liked.

On an unrelated forum i bumped into a poster who was knicknamed Flaxton boy, and he revealed that he, as child, lived in ripley castle during the filming of the series.

Flaxton Boys was one of the epics of my childhood. The house eventually got burnt down when the Xmas tree caught fire and a bloke threw a glass of whisky at it... I remember it was Prokofiev theme music and my Dad had it on vinyl - we used to play it round the house and it was in my tape collection for years.

I remember the theme being on Side 2 of the Decca LP "The World of the Great Classics- Peter and The Wolf". It's been some years since I've last seen a copy though. I remember it had a colour photo of a boy in a tree with a wolf looking up.

Hope that's some help!

One of the best kid's tv progs was a series by John Buchan - 'Huntingtower'. I would dearly love to see this again!

Good morning boys.

All I can remember of it was loving it and finding it very nostalgic even though I was only about 6 at the time. Didn't they move through from generation to generation - I also remember thinking that the idea for Rolf and Two Little Boys obviously came from this series being on at the time. Was a precocious brat or what?
