Help with film music (Love Story. 1944) - Britmovie

Can anyone please tell me the name of the piano piece that was played by Anne Lockwood in the black-and-white film clip which was being shown during a scene shot in the cinema, in the movie, "Wish You Were Here"?

The clip in question was taken from the classic British film "Love Story", which co-starred Stewart Granger and was released in 1944. In the film, Anne Lockwood played the part of a dying classical pianist. I'm not sure if this particular piano piece is a well-known clasical composition or whether it was written specially for the film.
