Default Film Score Concerts

Hello to you all this is my first time on this web site and i think i will find it very usefull .
Ok my question is can anyone help in providing information on how , where and when if any i can go to listen to a orchestral concert of film scores preferberally not to far from my home town in hampshire but a resonable distance is not to much trouble . I really enjoy listening to some of the fine music scores written for films and would jist love to hear a live performance of such music scores but have not up to now had any success in finding any orchestras performing such events.
Hope Some one would be able to supply this information
Yours S&F Colin.

Most of them are going to be in London. Just recently Ennio Morricone was in town.

The late Ron Goodwin used to do the rounds but it was the larger towns and cities. After all, an orchestra is a large beast and needs room to breathe.

Sign up for newsletters at places like the NFT, NT and other concert halls. Many of them send out emails of forthcoming events

Nick is right - London will probably be your best bet.

The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester occasionally does film music concerts for anybody who lives in the North West.

Saw Ron Goodwin in Plymouth (his home town) in the early 90s. Fantastic concert, partly because he was such a good racconteur and played a selection of material (not just his own and not just film music).

I've also got an Ennio Morricone CD which is a live concert recording - can't remember where/when, without digging out the CD - and it's interesting to hear how his music is adapted to the stage e.g. with another singer taking Edda Dell'Orso's place.
