A couple of years ago I bought the soundtrack to the film Bedazzled - the CD was several pounds dearer than a typically priced one. The same with the soundtrack CD for Kes, and this little beauty lasted only 19 minutes!

On checking other "Soundtrack" CD's on the racks, indeed they are all pounds dearer.

Anyone know why this should be?

Because they don't expect to sell many?

So the setting up costs must be absorbed at a higher rate into each CD sold.

I've noticed that also and once I got over being irritated or suspicious about being ripped off,

I realized the higher price might be caused by the extra fees paid to whichever company holds the rights of each song or piece on the CD.

What really bothers me is that some of the songs used in the film are left out on the CD. Maybe this goes back to the song rights, in this case not being able to include them. Anyone?

    Thanks,

    Barbara

I was refering to Ollies picture post of Charles Laughton - had you been on this forum sooner, you would realise that I try to plug Night of the Hunter" at any available opportunity - bit of an in-joke really...

Don't get confused with Night of the Demon and Night of the Hunter

    Hi Carlin,

I haven't heard of Soulseek, so thanks. I've been tempted to try file sharing programmes, but are they safe, i.e. computer takeover and viruses?

    Best,

    Barbara
