Just a reminder that the Malcolm Arnold Festival takes place at the Derngate theatre in Northampton on the first weekend in October. On the Sunday afternoon there will be a talk by Philip Lane on Arnolds Film Music.
From the Malcolm Arnold website :-
The composer and arranger Philip Lane will then present an illustrated talk on Malcolm Arnold’s film music. Philip Lane has arranged many of these film scores himself, including several that appear on the acclaimed Chandos CD, The Film Music of Malcolm Arnold, Volume 2, cat. 9851: Trapeze, Suite “No love for Johnny”, Suite “David Copperfield”, Ballade for Piano & orchestra from “Stolen Face” and Postcard from the Med. From “The Captain’s Paradise.”
Tickets are available from the Derngate site at http://www.royalandderngate.co.uk/en/Home
If you do not wish to buy a ticket for the whole weekend I believe you can attend all events except the final concert for £10
