Anything by Michael Nyman.
name='Geoffers']Leslie said he had an idea that could have worked, but as far as I know he never actually wrote anything officially. I think it would have been very difficult but Leslie was pretty good at his job so you never know!
Thanks for that!![]()

Love theme from "Mathew Hopkins, Witchfinder General"
Hauntingly beautiful.
I love ones from the western epics, any of them. It is probably easy to write as they are big and expansive and I find them thrilling and uplifting 'cos I come from the age of cowboys and indians. Obviously The Big Country is the first to come to mind but then I like Copeland so it must be my style. But NOT country and Western popular whines sorry songs. Can I add another scene setter? Where Eagles Dare. Not a western but similar in some ways as it builds presence.
Leaving Las Vegas, got the cd,cool bluesy jass type stuff,Sting done most of it but dont let that put you off. Also there is a great track from Don Henley included (Sting has been in a couple of reasonable movies,Brimstone and Treacle and Stormy Monday both of which I have in my library)
Diamonds are Forever (John Barry)
The Ipcress File (John Barry)
El Cid (Miklos Rosza)
Ben Hur (Miklos Rosza)
Dances With Wolves (John Barry)
The Sand Pebbles( Jerry Goldsmith)
The haunting theme that runs through 'The Usual Suspects' .Can't remember who wrote it although I should!
Mark Knopfler's score for Local Hero just adds to the magic of the film. I'm not a Newcastle United fan, but when the theme is played as the teams run out at St. James Park, it always gives me a little shiver!
