Many years ago I bought the soundtrack to the Odd Couple movie in Tescos, this was in the mid seventies when it only stocked cheapo Top Of the Pops style cover L.p.s but there was a remaindered copy of the Odd Couple and actually the soundtrack was rather odd.

It was a mixutre of Neil Heftis score interspersed with dialogue from the film with Lemmond and Matthau, but for some odd reason the dialogue had dubbed canned laughter. Why I never knew, was it a nod to the fact that the film was based on a play, however the dialogut was most definitely from the film..

Does anyone else have this soundtrack on vinyl and noticed the weird canned laughter.

My copy was on the now defunct Dot label that was a subsiduary of paramount back in the seventies.

Was the scene with the two English air hostesses on the LP?

Another Neal Hefti soundtrack that would merit a re-release is the delightful "Barefoot In The Park".

    (Another Gene Saks/Neil Simon collaboration).

Are you sure it wasn't taken from the Jack Klugman/ Tony Randall T.V. sitcom spin off?
