There were a few RVW documentaries in 2008 - marking 50 years since his death. I have all of them on DVD. I believe at least one of them had a commercial release as well ("Oh Thou Transcendant")

I am,right now, listening his Romanza:Lento from Symphony Nos. 5 and 9 and some of it reminds of the music in the closing credits of a film (not one in particular),where you are going through the endless list of the background crew and the composer is padding out the music from the central theme. Beautiful piece of music!

Rare footage of Ralph Vaughan Williams with conductor John Hollingsworth, famed Hammer Films music director, filmed at Anvil Films scoring stage at Beaconsfield Studios, not Denham as advertised. (Where they would move to about ten years later).
    Unfortunately no audio:

If the link doesn't work, it's on youtube.

This recording stage is where all the great Hammer films' music was recorded.
