Thanks a lot, that'llbetheday. Just found out it's on at 10.00. I remember this being on BBC2 in the Eighties and finding it strange to see him with blonde hair. But I must make a note of 'Life At The Top', which I've never seen. The DVD of 'Dandy In Aspic', however, arrived only a few days ago and I can't wait to see it - but I'll have to watch 'The Running Man' first!

Question: Why didn't you post this in the recent Laurence Harvey thread?

Is anyone else apart from me having a problem with Simply Movies? Watching Otley and The Executioner, i have found that the picture "jumps" from time to time. Other films have been fine - including A Dandy In Aspic - so i'm really puzzled as to what's happening.

And i've watched Otley more than once and the stutters happen at the same point, so i'm really tending to think that there's a problem with the transmission.

If anyone can offer suggestions or report a similar prohblem i'd be interested to know.

Dammit. I noticed The Running Man advertised and totally ignored it, i thought it was the Sci-fi movie they were showing. Serves me right.

A Dandy in Aspic is very enjoyable, tends to be a bit confusing though. Still nice to see it though. I splashed out 13 quid on the DVD a year or so back, as i never thought it would surface any other way.

    Ah well.

I was just tidying up some LP's when I came across a 1965 Supremes Tour Programme. In it is a picture of The Supremes with Laurence Harvey. Evidently they appeared on the same episode of the Eamonn Andrews Show !

I had the same problem with OTLEY (haven't watched THE EXECUTIONER yet). It starts at the point where he takes the driving test and gets worse from then on. It's probably a transmission problem but I can't explain the technicalities.

Thanks Wideboy - i was really beginning to think it was just me. I noticed it first when he's sitting in the kitchen getting clued up as to what's going on for the first time. And it does get more frequent and noticable as the film goes on.

I may try to contact SM now and see what they say. It's a shame, as i was going to replace my old copy with an off-air recording. Even though it is a 16:9 crop of the 4:3 it is much better quality than the VHS rip i currently have.

Sorry, getting a bit OT. Maybe we need a "Simply Movies" sticky :-)
