Well done...it's Next, an animation by Barry Purves, for Aardman and Channel Four in the mid-80's.
Shakespeare does a one-man career retrospective in five minutes, miming all his plays, as an audition in a theatre empty but for one other....St Peter....who has a remarkable resemblance to Sir Peter Hall. Fantastic concept, stunning animation, beautiful model work and tremendous music. Available on some Aardman compilations.
One of the greatest animation shorts ever made....Barry Purves is regarded as the dark genius in Aardman by the others who work there, by all accounts.
