Isn't that John Blythe lurking in the trenchcoat and trilby. Didn't he swap them for a white suit later when he came the White Tide Man or some such name?

Yes indeed it was John Blythe as Jane's boyfriend. I'd forgotten all about his time as the White Tide Man. He was one of the many familiar supporting players in British films of the 1940s & 1950s. A good mate of Diana Dors, I believe.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

I saw the 'frightened lady' title ... he probably thought he could confuse me into guessing it was The Dark Man. What did confuse me was that bloke in the uniform, with fur jackets and hat'n'coats it looked like they were at a train station!

Good one Joe. I am off to the cinema now, so please feel free to have the next go on me.

Well, I really blew it! I thought Greta had become a brunette

This is not a quiz, but I found it and thought you all might enjoy it:

Jane Hylton, Petula Clark, Diana Dors and Natasha Perry in Dance Hall, 1950—is it any good?

A fairly easy one to keep things ticking over.

It's a bit bleak and drab in places. But it is a good representation of Britain in the 1950s when things were a bit bleak and drab. The working class girls do have some quite posh accents, but there are some great performances in there

It is research .... if you don't know what it is, you find out! Book, magazine, dvd cover, phone a friend, imdb ....

Now .... name that film!
