A few freebies out of the kindness of my heart

Paper and pencil or computer stickies would be very useful.

You have already recognized the OOO and the problem is solvable without 4 of the 21. Think about the missing set also.

Two of the ones you are missing are pretty tricky—took me a while to find them. One is a South American Actor/Director. The other is an American actor currently making films

The older blue-toned picture is a gentleman from a well-known dynasty, his father and 3 of his 4 brothers were actors as was his cousin, and a niece who died in 1979—all of them with the same surname and all of appeared in films. They were all born in England, one of them was knighted, and all died in America—California and Texas.

The Leo Genn look-alike has appeared in either Name That Film or OOO.

This should get you a "heads-up". I hate this time difference. Don't expect any responses until at least 1 p.m. British Summer time.

This is a tough one indeed. I went to bed thinking musicals, but that doesn't seem to fit now. The only advance I have made is with the "blue" guy, it is either Guy, Jack or Percy Standing. Time for some breakfast!

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

Well, my own personal OOO in that lot is that I have actually spoken to Anthony Quayle but I haven't spoken to any of the others.
But I don't believe that's what you're after, vaggmk1938!

I lay in bed thinking about this (how sad is that!) and I came up with the dynasties angle, but that's about it.

Actually it is Wyndham Standing!

He is indeed! And I gave you a fairly good clue about him and the South American!

Now you have 19 of 21 including the OOO. You are missing the South American and the Genn impersonator!

Placement is everything—an earlier post of mine was made too simple. Joe got it fairly quickly, but the placement of the images helped—this time it doesn't.

Write 'em down. Shake "em up and you should notice that something is lacking. That is excepting the OOO who does not fit into the scheme.

Everyone of you knows the answer. It's as simple as...!

I knew I would end up getting the blame! And where did all those Standings come from?! I agree though, a good puzzle is one is one you have to work at.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

Is the South American Cantinflas? And 'Leo Genn' looks like William Franklyn to me.

Adding nothing to the current puzzling, but here's Wyndham, (I do feel I know him well enough now to be on first name terms!) with Warner Oland & Elsie Ferguson.

The new pics just contribute to the confusion, it certainly looks nothing like William Franklyn to me, Torq!

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

No to both!

You may find that this is getting a little OLD, so I am posting the missing set—no significance to the multiple photograph of you know who—just liked the image:

What do all these have in common and what has been left out of the first set? How many are there, here, and in toto?

I am quickly losing the will to live! What missing set?! Have I missed something here?!

Anyway, new (missing) set: Denholm Elliott, Sara Allgood, Peter Ustinov x 5, John Ireland & Maureen O'Hara.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

Letters of the alphabet ? Is there some strange cryptic initials thing going on here ? If so, that's me out, I can't even do the TV Quick crossword.

Bats.

I wish I had claws.
