Daniel Day-Lewis is OOO because he didn't appear in an adaptation of a work by Nicholas Blake but he's his son!

Glyn Houston - Detective
Bernard Horsfall - The Beast Must Die

It would have helped if I'd known NB was a pseudonym for CDL.

Good one Windy!

DDL is indeed OOO being the one of the three that didn't play Nigel Strangeways

His father's nom de plume for crime fiction was Nicholas Blake and GH and BH both played his famous detective Nigel Strangeways in TV adaptations

Well done all concerned

Thats the joke that killed the Music Hall !

I'm going to be like Katie Johnson in the Ladykillers and take the credit for everyone else's work (and yes, I've read some Nicholas Blake - he's jolly good!)

Now go forth and find the connection.

Should a clue be required, it's a role that connects them.

Branagh = Iago
McGoohan = Cousine
Ecclestone = Jago
Curtis = Stanley

Branagh is the only 'straight' Iago, the others were in 'based on' versions.

Unfortunately my 'brain crippler' has hit a snag and I have had to have a re-think.

I have another one in preparation .... back soon.

Jane Fonda and Jon Voight in Coming Home...Robert Ryan and Ida Lupino in ...Beware my Lovely, perhaps?? Maxie and Joan on the road to divorce, and I can't place the others, though I have a feeling I recognise the guy in the hat...
Are we talking offspring/forebears, something along those lines??

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

#1 Jon Voight
#2 Robert Ryan (it is from Beware My Lovely)
#3 Max
#4 ??????? - but it is the guy in the hat I'm after

No offspring/forebear connection.
