1/24-scale ‘Hell Drivers’ Truck Kit Poll
Walking past a model shop just before Christmas, my attention was drawn to a large box in the window. This contained a 1/24-scale model of a tipper-truck from the ‘50s. I was immediately flushed with boyish excitement (and it's not often that happens nowadays), for I thought at first it was the same type as used in ‘Hell Drivers’ – a Kew-Dodge 123. Alas, a closer look revealed it to be a Bedford. My first thought was, “What a pity. I’d have bought one of them.” Actually, my first thought was, “Bugger!” but we’re not allowed to swear on here.
Now for the serious bit .....
Having had my imagination fired by the idea of a ‘Hell Drivers’ truck kit, the thought wouldn’t leave me. I contacted the makers of the Bedford model and pointed out the marketing potential amongst ‘Hell Drivers’ many fans of a Dodge 123 tipper truck. Then the idea came to me of conducting a poll amongst our 8,000-plus members to see just how many ‘HD’ fans out there would be interested in such a kit. The response from the manufacturing company was what I’d call, ‘guarded enthusiasm’. In other words, although they can’t make any firm commitments at this stage, they’d nevertheless be intrigued by the results of the poll.
I need to emphasize this point, folks – even if the response is overwhelmingly in favour, there’s no guarantee that such a kit will ever see the light of day. The tooling and production costs of such a highly detailed kit are astronomical, so any manufacturer needs to be very sure of their potential market before going ahead. Even if it gets into production, it’s unlikely to feature a dedicated ‘Hell Drivers’ version. That said, any modeller worth his/her salt could easily paint it up and letter it with the correct ‘Hawletts’ signage.
So, come on, all you ‘HD’ fans: respond to this poll and maybe we can make it happen. Please answer ‘Yes’ to any of the following two questions (if you have no interest in the poll, don’t bother to answer negatively, as you’ll just be ignored).
If a 1/24-scale plastic model kit of the Dodge 123 (as used in ‘Hell Drivers’) was available, would you:-
(a) Definitely buy one example.
(b) Definitely buy two or more examples (please give an indication of how many).
Many thanks for taking part, and if it’s not too late to say it – Happy New Year!
Biffer
PS/ Admin’, please post this elsewhere if I’ve entered it in the wrong category. Thanks!

If you ever get to see one, Mr.Larkin, you can paint it any colour you like (but the real 'Hell Drivers' trucks will still be bottle-green!)
Thanks for your input.

Haven't seen 'Hell Drivers'???!!!Good God, man! You haven't lived. Get yourself on the interblob immediately and pick up a DVD copy from feePay, or whoever. You won't regret it.

I shall investigate such matters.

Shame there's not a Dinky replica, they could go with some of my other film/tv tie-in toys.
Hi Folks!
Sorry for posting this in what is obviously the 'wrong' section, but I'm desperately trying to get the attention of all 'Hell Drivers' fans on this one.
Please check out 'Hell Drivers Truck Kit Poll' in the 'British Films & Chat' section and, if you're interested, register your vote.
Thank you ..... now, carry on with what you were doing.

Hello Folks!
Are you a fan of the 1957 classic Brit' movie, 'Hell Drivers'?
Are you also a scale-model kit builder?
If you can answer 'yes' to at least one of these questions, be sure to check out the 'Hell Drivers Truck Kit Poll' in the 'British Films & Chat' section. It needs all the input it can get from members

Hi Folks,
Sorry if you're confused by my last two posts on here (me, too). These were moved by Admin' after I posted them in what appeared to be likely sections of the forum to attract 'stray' Hell Drivers fans. Quite why they were moved, I know not. I only know 'tis so.
As you can see, this poll is well and truly posted in the 'General Film Chat' section, and - hopefully - that's where it'll stay.

But you keep on posting, asking everyone to vote in the poll. As I don't want one, I can't vote. Maybe all of the other people that haven't voted yet don't want one eithername='Biffer']OK, don't buy one then.
