A DVD landed on my doormat today and I thought I'd tell you guys about it following recent discussions regarding certain genres.

'Genre Works: The Screenwriters Guide to Horror' is a filmed lecture delivered at Screenwiting Expo 2005 and is really rather excellent though a very intensive 1 hour and 5 minutes.



It touches on more than just the 'Horror' genre, though mostly about how Horror stories (specifically for the screen) are constructed.

It can be purchased from Amazon (not UK) and is Region 1... but I thought some might be interested in getting this also.

Remember, this is a filmed specialist lecture and not a documentary... and only bother with it if you are interested in how these sorts of stories are constructed within the Genre. It is excellent, if you are this way inclined.
