Sauteed in butter, way to go! Add a generous sprinkle of onion salt while they are cooking and a little bit of garlic pepper... yummy. I add quartered fresh tomatoes to the pan (and remove the skin as it wrinkles up and separates from the toms). You probably haven't had them cooked properly.
Slice them into medium slices, about 1/4 thick. Then cook them in butter until they just begin to brown.
