Off the top of my head -

The Mystery of the Wax Museum (1932) & its remake
The House of Wax (1953) but not the rec ent version with Paris Hilton !

and though I am not sure how museum-bound it is

Horrors of the Black Museum (1959)

Night at the Museum......Ben Stiller....... Wasn't there a recent US horror film about reptilian creatures lurking in the sewers beneath a museum? I think Bridget Fonda may have been in it, not sure though.

Not a museum, but maybe Wendy Toye's segment of Three Cases of Murder.

Thanks, yes Im trying to programme a late film screening for an event to tie with Halloween and would love a good (ie Not Ben Stiller) film, preferably one thats not so well known, made or set pre 60s? It could be subtle and disturbing, or a full on horror. Thanks all.

The Relic ... a US film with a monster rampaging through a museum. Tom Sizemore is in it.

Ah yes, 'The Relic', I think it was Mira Sorvino rather than Bridget Fonda, not bad hokum.

Penelope Ann Miller starred in The Relic set in Chicago's Museum of Natural History. Mira Sorvino was in the not too dissimilar Mimic

There is a film called "The Lamp" and it all set in a museum but i have it on VHS but i dont know if it was ever released on DVD as far as i know it hasn't but it is a really good scarey museum film.
"An ancient genie is released from a lamp when thieves ransack an old woman's house. They are killed and the lamp is moved to a museum to be studied. The curator's daughter is soon possessed by the genie and invites her friends to spend the night at the museum, along with some uninvited guests. The genie kills them off in an attempt to fulfill her ultimate wish."
This is the description of it and it was made in 1987.
