The moment in Halloween when Michael Myers face emerges from the shadows. Also in that film, the wardrobe attack.

I haven't seen Ron Moody coming out of an archway with his sausage, but just the thought boggles my mind!

Of course I was much younger but the scene in Night of the Demon when 'the hand' on the banister follows Dana Andrews down the dark staircase - feet off the floor time.

Oh, yes, a great ice-down-the-spine moment.

How about when Saul Femm snarls inThe Old Dark House?

. . . and new thumbscrews for me . . .

The scariest line in a TV show is "starring Ricky Gervais", or even "with Ricky Gervais"
It makes me reach for the "off" switch very quickly rather than be exposed to that horror.

The final scene of the Dutch film Spoorloos (The Vanishing) always gives me the creeps, particularly how it's just so unexpected.

The USS Indianapolis monologue from Jaws, as previously stated, is also a very bonechilling moment, with the isolation of the boat in the same place the carnage took place - the open sea, the calm and quiet tone of Quint's voice, the images that his words conjure up and the comparitive light-hearted mood that had preceeded it. Terrific acting from all involved, most especially Robert Shaw

'Open your eyes..open you eyes or I'll staple your eyelids to your forehead'

Just before the Red Dragon played by the excellent Tom Noonan revealed his distorted face with a stocking over his head to Lownes the journalist.

From the film Manhunter directed by Michael Mann and adapted from the Thomas Harris novel the Red Dragon.

What a great series! They should repeat them all again and also 'One Step Beyond'
some real frighteners. What about the couple who were stuck in a lift with the house then deserted and the electric is switched off!!
And the lodging house where a girl is spied on via peep holes all over the place!!!
