After you've watched it, have a look at the comparison between the book and the film and see how Emeric Pressburger took a fairly ordinary story and made it into a remarkable screenplay. That's why Michael Powell realised what a gem he had found and why they stayed together, making films together for the next 20+ years and remained great friends for the rest of their lives

As a Kindle user I can only say the gizzmo beat any expectation I had of it, a remarkable little tool to take on your travels but will never replace paper books for me at home :)

A whole stack of films as one would expect....
"FISH TANK"....2009 Andrea Arnold's BAFTA Winner & Festival de Cannes Jury Prize winner, starring Katie Jarvis, Michael Fassbender & Kierston Wareing....

"MAX"....2002 Directed by Menno Mayjes and starring John Cusack & Noah Taylor......."Art + Politics = Power"...Adolf Hitler 1918...

"La lune dans le Caniveau" (The Moon in the Gutter) ....1983 Jean-Jacques Beineix's little known gem sandwiched in between "Diva" & "Betty Blue" starring Gerard Depardieu & Nastassja Kinski (in her first French film)...."Dazzling.. Bizarre humour" Time out

Triple Box Set (Extended versions) Stieg Larsson's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", "The Girl who Played with Fire" & " The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest"...2008
    starring Noomi Rapace

"Sur mes Levres" (Read my Lips)...2001 Jacques Audiard's spellbinding romantic thriller starring Vincent Cassel & Emmanuelle Devos (winner best actress Cesar Awards 2002)......"Revenge is sweet".

"Gainsbourg"...2010 Joann Sfar's long awaited bio-pic of the infamous French icon Serge Gainsbourg starring Eric Elmosnino, Lucy Gordon & Laetitia Casta..."Slick, Stylish and endlessly fascinating"....Plenty of extras with that one.....

"Outnumbered"....series 4......as someone who very rarely watches TV....It'll have to wait under a rather large stack of more important films before it gets a viewing...if ever....

and my ever popular calendar.....which Mrs Sarge has the temerity to make from some of my more "accessable" screen-grabs....
    Cheers

I prefer real books-the older the better (the pic below is my 1865 edition of 'Shelleys Poetical Works') but Ebooks devices are handy in many ways-from being convenient luggage wise to having a backlight for night reading and everyone should embrace them!
