Alan Smithee died in about 1990 it seems. Are there any films since Supernova which have had pseudonym director credits, or at least where the director tried to get his name removed?

Supernova was released in 2000, not 1990. 'Alan Smithee' was 'retired' for that film and replaced by the pseudonym 'Thomas Lee'. AFAIK no 'standard' name is used these days for such circumstances.

The following films credit "Smithee" with the actual director is listed when known:

People like Alan don't retire, or die.
Check out his filmography at the IMDb. He's got lots of credits after 1990

This was just pre-1990 but David Lynch got his name removed from the extended version of DUNE, resulting in the amusing opening title "A ALAN SMITHEE FILM" (sic).

Yep - so there is no equivalent name being used today. But I'm guessing there are still films in the last 10 years which directors have disowned, and pseudonyms have been used. Anyone know what they might be?

You could try researching that yourself in the same way we did to answer your original question.

As I said above, Alan Smithee is still alive and well.
Why do you keep thinking that it isn't used any more?

The Screen Directors Guild did make a statement years ago that 'Alan Smithee' was now too well known as an indicator of a 'troubled' production that they were not going to use it any more.

I know that, I was simply putting that forward as to why the OP may still think 'Alan Smithee' is no longer with us.
