Having just begun reading Ingrid's biography and wondered if members might know if her early Swedish films (1934-39) are available in DVD format....?
Have looked on Amazon but there doesn't seem to be a Swedish equivalent. Sadly it doesn't seem possible to search for Amazon worldwide, but only within certain countries..
Its quite possible that these films no longer exist, but wonder if anyone here has seen any of them....?
    Cheers
    Sgt S

www.dvd.se which was the main Swedish site that sold abroad closed down recently. However there's this collection - I assume it's the Swedish Intermezzo

Don't know if this might help you Sarge? A boxed set from 1936(all subtitled in English)
Ingrid Bergman - Swedish Film Collection (Intermezzo / A Woman's Face / June Nig
Only the three films though and looks like region 1?

    Thanks Cap & Chevyman...
Both sites are offering the same box-set and as its Region 1 that no longer presents a problem thanks to my youngest son's magic 15 m cable which connects my PC to the TV...
No matter its only 3 films ( that'll give me the flavour of her early films). Interestingly "Intermezzo" was the film Selznick enticed her over to Hollywood to do the re-make of (starring our own Leslie Howard).
    All the best

Oh good. I saw Intermezzo last year and really enjoyed it. Will look forward to seeing A Woman's Face to compare with the Joan Crawford version.

I'm hoping Santa will see I've been a very good boy this year (well I have been most of the time) and find space in his sack for that fascinating box-set...

Without the benefit of sub-titles, I fear the need to acquire the translator y skills of some buxom pneumatic Baltic maiden....

For the time it seems wonderfully imaginative, I found that thanks to Rob Baker's twitter, (another nickel in the machine).
