Hi,
The problem that I have sometimes found when watching some Dickens' adaptations on the television screen, of yesteryear, was that some minor characters did not always come over well. Also in cases of a complex situation, the plot became hard to follow for an audience. At least with a book, you can back-track. But sometimes too many characters could complicate things. But not in all cases.
But never-the-less, Charles Dickens was an excellent author and created some superb characters. I also remember on the odd occasion, I have visited his house in Broadstairs. It was worth a visit. As well as another building featured in David Copperfield.
The clip submitted in this thread, I like. It is telling the story and having fun with it.
I will be returning to Britmovie sometime after Christmas and defininately in the New Year.
I hope you all behave yourselves. Remain sober. Don't over eat. Then you will not end up like me.
Alan French.
