If memory serves me Peter Capaldi appeared as a transvestite in one of the Prime Suspect series.

Does anyone recall a film from the 70's (I think) where a young actor played both a boy & a girl & when the end

credits rolled he was shown as "?". I also think that the actor also was a one hit wonder & appeared on TOTP.

I think his first name was Peter but it was a long time ago when I saw it on TV!

It's Girl Stroke Boy, in the credits the actor is just credited with their surname Straker.

I have been reluctant to contribute to this thread, because I discovered there is a professional actor who has the same name as myself. And he has appeared in pantomime. There are pictures of him in his pantomime dame personna.

However, while I am on. Unless they have not already been mentioned.

A number of actors portray some men who in WW2, have to infiltrate enemy mines as women. One of them is Eddie Izzard. The film is 'All The King's Men'.

Also, Raquel Welch appeared in a controversial film, in which she has two sex changes. This was 'Myra Breckinbridge'.

And in 'Superman The Movie' a baby girl is used for the infant Superman. Well she was wearing napkins!

A silent version of 'Treasure Island' featured a woman as Long John Silver.

In the 1920's, a stage version of 'Tarzan of the Apes' featured an undeveloped girl as the boy Tarzan for the childhood scenes.

This reminds me of a strange mystery movie which had a troubled girl throughout the movie and I think there was a murder too. But at the end of the film, the girl turns out to be a boy. There was a painting of Michael the Archangel too. I cannot remember the name of the movie or any of the actors although it might have had Robert Shaw in it.
