Smile Return of The Jedi ending

Last night at work,I was talking to a colleague about Return Of The Jedi and she told me that the scene right at the end where the ghosts of Joda,Obi Wan and Anakin Skywalker appear before Luke, had been altered. In the original cut, veteran British actor Sebastian Shaw was revealed to be Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth vader, and he also appeared as the "ghost". Now,they have removed Shaw's image and replaced him with that of the lad who played Anakin Skywalker (I forget his name) before becoming the evil Lord Darth Vader.
I think it is a bit of an effrontery to discard an actor in such a way. Although,he wasn't in the film that long, for over twenty years you just saw Sebastian Shaw as being the face behind the mask (no disrespect to Dave Prowse) and the young lad's appearance doesn't seem fitting somehow.
Oh.well,that's my Wednesday afternoon rant.

I watched last half hour of this on Sunday and am 99.9% convinced it is Sebastian Shaw. Those special editions are horrendous anyway - especially in Return of Jedi when it cuts away from all that model work and quality set design to pan through some CGI vistas.

In the version they showed on ITV it is still Sebastian Shaw but in the latest version available on DVD he's been replaced by Hayden Christensen.

Details on the various versions can be found

here

I think they also inserted Ian McDiarmid into The Empire Strikes Back
